I recently attended the Website Workshop – VIP version that Tanya was running. I had a basic knowledge of writing blogs but wanted to improve how they rank and this had always been something I struggled with.

You don’t really understand how its possible without spending a whole load of time you don't have and the results take months if it works at all anyway, so what's the point?!
I totally get that, and its really common to think it takes far too long. Most people believe you have to wait at least six months from starting implementing SEO on your website for the search engines to notice.
The cynic in me believes this message was started by the people selling ‘done for you’ SEO services. Mostly to buy them time to keep you off their back. Not to mention that their 6-month package will be finished and they will have had their money and ran well before you realise that something is off and kick up a fuss. Most people just walk away and chalk it up to experience and there ends their hope of making money from their website.
People also think that it is something you do after your website is finished, an add on, if you like. It is supposed to be something we do as we go, and the reason for that is this. When you start editing to add SEO you can end up rewriting a fair chunk of your carefully considered copy anyway. Once you know how to write for SEO though you start writing in the right way so it saves time because you never do it twice again.
You can see how people decide they need to find another way for making money. And keep slogging away at social media even though the reach is going down, competition is going up and it is getting harder year on year.
You need to learn how to do it yourself but it sounds so complicated.
You don’t think you can have the time you need to learn SEO properly. Obviously, it can’t possibly be easy else everyone would be doing it.
But here’s the thing, most people who teach SEO also sell website and/or done for you services so none of them really want you to know how easy it is.
Then there’s AI which seemed like a good option, but they don’t rank enough either. Well, they certainly don’t convert to cash in the bank if Google does rank them. I usually say we should aim for 1 good quality blog a month. Usually they take around 2 hours. So that is the time commitment. You can keyword research in one go for many blogs. If you spend 1-2 hours on that every 6 months you are all set. So even when you are new to this, 3 hours a month. The Q&A/coworking is every week just in case you can’t make all of them and to enable you to put that time aside to work on your website not as an additional ‘thing to do’

No but you do need a website where you can add posts (on new urls). Some websites when you blog it just adds onto the ‘blog page’ but when you click to see the whole thing, it doesn’t take you to a new page. It just expands where it is, on the main page. Those sites won’t rank a blog on Google because there will be too many different keywords on one page. They are rare these days but we want to mention it, just in case you have one.
